This explains the principle of the old fashioned corkscrew, whereby the mechanism converts a small force into a larger force. The animated gadgetry shows a wine bottle mounted on a serving tray with a corkscrew fixed to it. The corkscrew is moved up and down by a linear actuator. With the interactive exhibit the visitor can experience the fact that by moving the joints, the necessary force to uncork the screw can be enlarged or reduced. These forces are shown on several 7-segments LED displays.
