This explains the workings of so-called bimetal - the principles of expansion of two different types of metal as a result of a different coefficient of expansion. In the animated gadgetry a hand moves down and presses the switch of the electric toaster. In the toaster a lamp will switch on to simulate the toasting. After a given amount of time the sandwiches will light up one by one to show that the bread is toasted. With the interactive the visitor can experience the workings of a bi-metal himself by bringing down a sandwich with a handle. After activating the i-button hot air will be blown at the bi-metal which will make it contract. After a given amount of time the toast will pop up. The original exhibit cost in the region of £9,500 (excluding
