The exhibit shows the workings of a flushing toilet cistern. In the animated gadgetry a hand that is mounted on a linear actuator presses the toilet handle and a plunger inside the cistern forces water into a siphon pipe. The full operation can be seen working through the transparent cistern and toilet bowl. The interactive consists of a flushing cistern where the visitor can set the filling level of the cistern.
