The exhibit shows the principle of using high frequency sound waves to produce images by reflecting the sound waves from the various tissues within the body. The animated gadgetry shows an unborn baby (graphic image on a glass panel) being scanned by the moving ultrasound waves. One leg is jointed and makes a kicking movement. With the interactive exhibit the visitor can make a scan by moving a probe (with a concealed magnet) across a dome representing the stomach of a pregnant woman. An LCD screen on the table shows a video-clip of the moving baby. The original exhibit cost in the region of £15,900 (excluding
