Motion-platform theatre

A 'pink knuckle' experience, where in eight minutes the visitor is shown the history of explosions.

This starts with the beginning of time - the Big Bang - to when man first created fire, the Chinese invention of Gunpowder, explosives in warfare, through to the making of the atomic bomb and present day space exploration. The specially constructed theatre contains a Moog motion platform to which the theatre chairs are attached, moving with what is being shown on the screen. This gives audiences the feeling of being part of the action.

The original feature and its component parts cost in the region of £400,000. These included:

  • Audio Visual equipment (projector, screen, sound controls etc) costing £65,000
  • Lighting and Special Effects (including Fog System £20,000) costing £70,000
  • Motion Base (including control software, platform, seats, etc,) costing £230,000.
  • Other miscellaneous items costing in the region of £40,000.

The reserve price is £50,000. Offers over this amount are invited.
